The European Commission’s Directorate General responsible for Internal Market and Services strives to ensure that the legislation proposals which it issues fully respect the better regulation principles. The European Business Test Panel (EBTP), constitutes a unique link between European businesses and the Commission by providing a representative group of enterprises with an opportunity to give direct input to the development of various important initiatives.
By joining the EBTP Maltese companies will have the unique opportunity to provide their views on the potential positive and negative impact of new proposals on their operation. In other words, businesses can indicate the extent to which such proposals are likely to generate or reduce costs and administrative burdens, or improve the environment in which they operate.
Forum Malta fl-Ewropa (FME) has been entrusted with the responsibility of this initiative. Seven local entities, which represent the Maltese business community - namely the FOI, the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, the MHRA, the GRTU, the MEA, the Gozo Business Chamber and the Gozo Tourism Association - endorsed the Forum’s appeal to support the initiative and shall be assisting the FME with the promotion of this initiative and the recruitment of members from the Maltese business community to form part of a National Panel.
