JEF Malta, the Young European Federalists' Malta branch, is currently participating in a year long pan-European campaign "Speak Up Europe". This campaign, supported by the European Commission, seeks to bring debates about European issues to all the Member States, thereby contributing actively to the European Commission's ‘Plan D' - Dialogue, Democracy & Debate. With 5 international partners and 26 national partners, covering 25 countries and 20 languages and organising 25 web portals and 300 activities, this is the largest civil society campaign.

In the framework of the campaign, between the 23rd and the 25th of March, JEF Malta organised a European Parliament Simulation Competition which brought together youths from different backgrounds, in an attempt for them to acquire the experience of the highest level of democracy at European level. This initiative formed part of the National Youth Day Celebrations and was organised in collaboration with Forum Malta fl-Ewropa and the European Parliament Information Office.

The winning participants won a training visit to Brussels which included a hands-on experience of the European decision making sphere.
