Legal Notice 196 of 2004 (Mutual Recognition of Qualifications Act, Cap 451) stipulates that the Mutual Recognition of Qualifications Designated Authorities Conference be convened once a year. The aims of the Conference are a) to facilitate and promote uniform application of the Act and related regulations b) to co-ordinate the activities of the designated authorities, c) to ensure the timely dissemination of information on matters governed by the act and regulations.
The second Conference for Designated Authorities was held on the 29 May 2007. Dr Gabriella Pace was invited to address participants on the subject of Mobility and the Internal Market. In her intervention, Dr Pace provided a background of raison d'etre of the single market, touching upon mobility, the free provision of services and mutual recognition of professional qualifications.
