One World Week, a fixture in KSU’s annual calendar, was this year organised between Monday 26th February and Friday 2nd March 2007. During this week, students could get a taste of the different nationalities and cultures on campus, as well as explore the opportunities available away from our shores. An inter-faith dialogue, a debate on mobility, a quiz night, wine tasting and a DVD on fair trade were just a few of the activities planned for this week.
Apart from information stands about the international opportunities, such as traineeships and exchanges, offered by the various student organisations on campus, work opportunities abroad offered through EURES, or other travel opportunities available through NSTS, on 28 February 2007 Forum Malta fl-Ewropa organised an Information session, in collaboration with KSU. The Information Session focused on working and studying opportunities provided by the EU. Michael Refalo from the Malta Council for Science and Technology, Claire Chetcuti and Natasha Attard from Eures-Malta and Stefania Fabri from the University of Malta’s International Office provided information on EU-funded research programmes, work opportunities and academic opportunities assisted by the EU respectively.
The session was chaired by Dr. Justin Fenech, ex-KSU president and elected European Students’ Union (ESIB) chairperson for 2006.
