Forum Malta fl-Ewropa and the Malta Council for Science and Technology have teamed up to organise a half-day seminar on ‘The Seventh Framework Programme: Opportunities for SMEs’. This event was held at The Coastline Hotel, Salina Bay on 12 June 2008.

The speakers included Dr Barend Verachtert, Head of Sector at the European Commission’s DG Research. In his presentation, Dr Verachtert focused specifically on the various opportunities for SMEs under FP7. Other speakers outlined the general content of FP7 and addressed the assistance available for SMEs, as well as the national Research and Innovation Programme. There was also a Project Gallery during which success stories from Malta were presented and discussed.
