For Year 2010, the Government has allocated a total of EUR 500,000 to support projects implemented within the localities of Malta and Gozo proposed by the Local Councils and/or the Local Councils’ Association who apply for grants under EU funding programmes and require a co-financing element.  A vast array of EU Funding opportunities exist and it is vital for Malta to benefit and exploit fully such funding initiatives. Within this field, Government is seeking to establish a co-financing instrument having a clearly defined purpose, in that it may be utilized to provide assistance and facilitate project activities funded by the EU.
