During a Business Breakfast held at the Grand Hotel in Mgarr on 19th May 2010 and aimed at SMEs addressed by Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Chris Said, Dr. Vanni Xuereb and Mr. Alan Camilleri, Malta Enterprise Executive Chairman, various speakers representing SMEs established in Gozo recounted their success stories in relation to EU funded projects.
In his speech, Dr. Said mentioned how Gozo’s SMEs are at a disadvantage when compared to SMEs from other European Union regions, since Gozitans suffer from a double insularity, being the secondary island of an island state. Dr. Said explained how to tackle this, the Government was working to minimise these difficulties not only for SMEs but for Gozitans in general.
