The Magical Adventures of Tommy & Rosy: cartoon launch in Malta

During the past two weeks, the first episode in the series The Magical Adventures of Tommy & Rosy was launched. This consists of a Cartoon DVD and comic book informing children about the history of the European Union and what the Union means for its citizens in their daily lives. The project is one of the operations under the Management Partnership Agreement signed in 2009 between the European Commission and MEUSAC by virtue of which MEUSAC is entrusted with implementing a Joint Communication Plan between the Commission, the European Parliament and the Government of Malta.

Two screenings of the Cartoon were held, one in Malta and another in Gozo. These brought together nearly one thousand primary and secondary pupils from State, Church and Private schools in Malta and Gozo.

The Tommy & Rosy storybook and DVD will be distributed to all children aged 9 to 14 in all schools in Malta and Gozo at the beginning of the new scholastic year. A total of 30,000 children will, therefore, start learning the European Union’s history through this interactive cartoon.
