The Malta EU Steering and Action Committee has been entrusted with the implementation of an information measure, co-funded by the European Commission and which consists of a series of activities and the dissemination of information relating to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). One of these activities was the organisation of a National Conference on Europe’s Common Agricultural Policy: Now and Beyond.

The National Conference included presentations on how the CAP functions at present as well as on the future of the CAP after 2013. The presentations were delivered by local and foreign experts. Participants also had the opportunity to discuss relevant issues during thematic workshops.

The National Conference was of particular interest to farmers, agriculturalists, agricultural co-operatives, students, experts on EU policies and agriculture, people involved in the tourism sector and the general public. The outcomes of the conference and workshops lead to a publication entitled CAP for All.

The National Conference on Europe’s Common Agricultural Policy; Now & Beyond was held on Monday 14^th June 2010 at The Palace Hotel in Sliema.
