This year MEUSAC was present during the Imnarja festivities held at Buskett on June 28 and 29.
MEUSAC has obtained EU funds for an information measure entitled EU’s CAP: Now and Beyond. The Project aims at, promoting the European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy and its effect on our agricultural sector as well as engaging the sector and the public in general in the debate on the reform of the CAP.
MEUSAC set up two stands at Buskett to provide information to the general public. Children and adults also had the opportunity to participate in a number of activities at the stands. Children were invited to participate in a competitive game called: Make a Healthy Lunchbox! – where they were asked to choose a “healthy lunch” from a large shopping cart. The aim of this interactive game was to raise more awareness among children that lunch should be a part of our balanced daily diet and to continue promoting the EU’s healthy eating campaign.
Another game: Farm to Fork Challenge, was intended to educate children about the long process many of our meals take before they actually finish on our plate. On a larger scale, the EU has been working to make sure that the food we eat is of the same high standard for all its citizens, whether the food is homegrown or coming from another country, inside or outside the EU. A board game was also set up for those who were up to a quiz challenge based on questions about the Common Agricultural Policy and general knowledge on the EU. A similar quiz took place for adults who wanted to test their knowledge on the same themes within a limited time.
